Source
The cananga tree grows in tropical Asia and on the Molucca Islands. It is distilled exclusively in Java. See also Ylang-ylang.
Extraction Method
Cananga and ylang trees were considered for a long time as identical. The 90-foot-tall tree bears flowers all year round that are gathered, dried and steam distilled.
Use
Cananga is more economical than ylang ylang, and thus more extensively used in perfumery, particularly in the composition of standard scents.
