Fruity, juicy, flowery, woody, winey, musky.

Origins

Fruit of the vine, grapes are berries that grow in bunches. They can be green or purply-black. Although they can be eaten fresh and juicy, or dried, as sweet raisins, their juice is probably most appreciated as the basis for wine and many other spirits, such as Cognac.

Extraction Method

The scent of grapes is reproduced in the laboratory by combining different molecules.

Use

The grape note, while rare, is used in fine fragrance, as are such variations as the smoother muscat grape note, and the more candied raisin note.

Powers

In addition to their fruit and wine roles, grapes are also used in cosmetics. Indeed, grapes contain polyphenols, which are powerful anti-free radicals.
