Couturier Azzedine Alaïa dips into perfume
20 march 2013Do you know Azzedine Alaïa? Well, you’re going to be hearing about him soon, because he’s getting ready to launch his first fragrance.
Alaïa is a Tunisian designer who set up shot in Paris right from the beginning. His dresses are like a ‘second skin’ worn by the most beautiful and famous women in the world!
His first perfume will be designed in collaboration with the French group BPI, which has already successfully done the fragrances for Narciso Rodriguez and Jean Paul Gaultier, among others.
The world of fashion (and cosmetics!) can’t wait, but the couturier’s first fragrance probably won’t be available until 2015. Photo: style.com
For a scent that includes Tunisian Materials: Tunisia Patchouli, Tunisian Musk, Tunisian Frankincense, Tunisian Myrhh, Tunisian Amber, vetiver, sandalwood, wintergreen, ravensara, rosemary, birch, aniseed, citruses, carrot seed, geranium, ylang ylang, violet leaf, cinnamon leaf, clove, marjoram, lavender, rosewood, chamomile, black pine, davana and a few more middle notes of flower - to round things out.
Report abuseA fine bewitching feminine scent that builds up and meshes many lavenders including French lavender and Bulgarian lavender so it remains in top and middle notes & even somewhere in the dry-down. Lime & peppermint could dance a duet in and out of the lavender landscape. Vanilla would be nice in the end.
Report abuseI'd love a new perfume which tells a story with the main notes of Wintergreen, Ravensara and Geranium highlighted. Sexy, maybe modern oriental or modern chypre, but with those 3 essences focused & showcased in the new scenty.
Report abuseC'est drôle... Je pensais qu'il avait déjà lancé un parfum depuis bien longtemps... Merci pour cette information. Ne portant pas de ses vêtements mais le connaissant de visuels, il me tarde de sentir son univers olfactif.
