Best Mint Fragrances Reviewed

Versace – Eros for Men

Typical Versace Eros DNA.

Versace Eros perfume is the third installment in the Versace Eros series after the Versace Eros Red Flame. Many perfume enthusiasts expect its launch and are happy to see this on the market (check the best selling Versace perfumes).

Eros by Versace

The bottle is the same as the one in its previous installments of the Versace Eros lineup. There are no distinguishing features on the bottle itself, but the box has a golden and blue design.

Now, this is an EU de perfume, and like most n this category, they make it darker, deeper, richer, full-bodied, and long-lasting, which is a good thing. This one, however, is a little bit different. It has the typical Versace Eros DNA in it.

As soon as you spray it in, you get the minty, vanilla, and tonka bean notes. It is a little deeper in the base notes with balsamic, woody, and mature notes. There is something also a little bit spicy about this one.

Specifically, this Versace perfume has a combination of notes, including Italian lemon zest and a green apple that gives you a bright freshness with oriental notes such as tonka beans, amber, geranium flower, and vanilla.

All this is followed by base notes that include cedarwood, vetiver (check the best smelling perfumes with vetiver notes), and oak moss. These base notes add such a striking contrast to the bright and citrusy notes that the perfume starts with, making it a very complex mint perfume.

As it starts to dry down, it becomes intense and very masculine. It has a great performance of 6 to 8 hours, depending on your body chemistry. It has exemplary notes that make you stand out in a room full of people.

Not only does it have great lasting (check the top rated long lasting colognes), but it also has a prominent presence. You get a minty and creamy fragrance with a rich balance which makes it amazing to use in the colder weather. If you want a minty party fragrance that makes you stand out, you should try this one.

Balenciaga – Florabotanica

This is a great perfume, especially if you love mint and roses.

Balenciaga’s Florabotanica is an incredibly popular fragrance that many people just blind buy most of the time because of its incredibly cool bottle. But, it turns out to be a fantastic investment, and people cannot stop raving about this minty fragrance.

Florabotanica by Balenciaga

The spray atomizer on this one is amazing and gives you a luxurious spray. When spraying it on, you instantly recognize this is a minty rose fragrance. It has a wet grassland rose to feel that reminds you of roses drenched in rainwater.

You get a floral combination of rose, carnation, and cannabis for the middle notes. This is then interestingly followed by warm and soothing notes of vetiver and amber. So, such a nice balance of minty, floral, and warm notes is bound to take your senses by surprise.

It has a good projection, and you will feel like you are in an aromatic bubble when you have this on. However, it leaves people around you wanting to have more and more of this fragrance. This comes very close to your niche fragrances, and if you are crazy about trying high-end designer brands, this is a good cheaper option.

This Balenciaga perfume has a long-lasting of up to 8 hours and a reasonable projection time of 4 hours. So, in terms of longevity, this minty rosy perfume is also very nice.

Heeley - Menthe Fraîche

The niche fragrance house of Heeley has the perfect mint perfume called the Menthe Fraiche.

It has an amazing collection of perfumes, especially for those who love mint notes in their perfumes. This house is building its fan base, but this mint-based perfume shows they use authentic, quality ingredients and will take you to mint-based heaven.

Menthe Fraîche by Heeley

All the bottles from the Heeley house have the same simple glass design, logo on the wooden cap, and an exquisite atomizer. The Menthe Fraiche itself is a unisex fragrance. You will not find it to be specifically feminine or masculine. It is a very versatile fragrance that will work great on whoever loves minty scents and decides to wear this.

Talking about projection and longevity, it is not the beast kind of perfume. It has a very subtle watery projection that cannot offend anyone no matter how many sprays you pump on yourself. 4-5 sprays all over are good enough for up to 5 – 6 hours

Now that we have that out the way let’s talk about what makes this perfume a star. The notes and how they come together to give you this fantastic minty fragrance. It starts instantly with mint leaves and bergamot. You get lotus, matcha, and green tea for the middle notes. In the base notes, you get white cedar.

Overall, this mint-based fragrance doesn’t smell like cheap gum or toothpaste. It has a more herbal, minty, and subtle floral feel that is watery and transparent. Perfect to be worn during the hotter season. You put it on, and it instantly hits you by all sorts of mint.

Peppermint and spearmint, left and right, both go head to head. It smells like a mint left in the garden mixed with citrus, and it will morph into a peppermint with time. It is a green fragrance that leaves you refreshed and cooled down a few degrees.

Frederic Malle Geranium Pour Monsieur

This fragrance has great structure; the mint makes way for much more.

One of the best mints in the game of fragrances is Geranium Pour Monsieur by Frederic Malle. This was released in 2009 and made by the famous Dominique Ropion, a fragrance genius. The major notes on this one are mint combined with geranium and amnese. These bottles are classic glass bottles with good functioning atomizers.

Geranium Pour Monsieur by Frederic Malle

The opening gravitates your nose to an uplifting methylated minty note. This feels herbal, watery authentic, and amazing, especially for mint lovers. That opening makes it on top of mint-based perfumes. The maker took the minty part of geranium and amplified this opening to give you that mentholated thinness and coolness that gives you a refreshing feeling right off the beat.

This fragrance is known for its minty introduction, but there is much more to the Geranium Pour Monsieur. The opening has a little bit of a lemony and citrusy aspect that pairs well with the mint in the top notes.

At the heart of the release, you get hit by spicy notes during the dry down. You get cloves, cinnamon, and anise that give the perfume a strong personality. The aroma is a two-stager. It starts minty but then gives you a spicy dry down that adds great personality to the perfume itself.

It is wearable throughout the seasons. The minty opening, followed by the spicy blend, makes it an all-rounder. Next, let’s talk about the much-neglected geranium in this perfume. It is a very complex note that adds to the versatility of the aroma. The geranium gives you the green herbal note and the peppery kick in the spicy stage (check the best smelling spicy perfumes). It is light and watery but has a nice kick to it.

However, it is great for spring and summer nights and unique for the fall season. It is more of a daily wear perfume that you can rock throughout the day. It has an average performance of 6 -8 hours and has good projection. So, it is worth the investment, especially if you are looking for minty fragrances.

Amouge Enclave

You will enjoy this fragrance if you like the sweet candy-like mintiness instead of the green herbal one.

Amouge introduced a very famous range of perfumes called the Renaissance. The name attracted a lot of interest from people and piqued their curiosity. The range has four fragrances: crimson rocks, meander, ashore, and Enclave. Enclave is a woody, spicy aroma focusing on spearmint that grows on you with time. So, if you love mint-based fragrances, you should check this one out.

Enclave by Amouge

This was launched in 2020 and is considered a woody, spicy fragrance. The perfumer behind this is Julien Rasquinet. It has a straightforward yet exciting breakdown of notes. At the top, you get cardamom, spearmint, pink pepper, and cinnamon.

Moreover, you get floral notes of rose absolute, patchouli, and vetiver at heart. You get safiano, amber extreme, leather, and labdanum in the base notes.

The amalgamation of notes is very versatile because, typically, spearmint is not something you would find in various notes like this. The fragrance starts very minty and spicy at the top, and there are no citruses. They work wonderfully together. The play of the cardamom and the cinnamon bark is an excellent addition to the instant minty notes at the top.

You get very floral notes at heart, and the combination of patchouli and alabanam come together. There is a subtle presence of rose notes, but it is not something that defines the fragrance of the middle notes. This fragrance has a slight smokiness, especially in the dry down. In the base notes, it gets a little bit leathery, dominated by amber fragrance.

Overall, this fragrance keeps bringing you back to it again and again. The presence of mint is reminiscent of mint candy in this perfume rather than the herbal minty fragrance. It is not green and herbal. That is the kind of experience you will get with this fragrance. It has the right amount of intensity combined with subtleness.

Prada Luna Rossa

it is a fresh-smelling fragrance with an interesting composition

The next minty fragrance is from the designer house of Prada, and it’s called the Luna Rossa. It came out in 2012 and became easily available easily quite later on. Luna Rossa translates to the red moon, the name of the Italian extreme sailing team participating in the Olympics. The bottle itself resembles the sailboat of the sailing team.

Luna Rossa by Prada

Luna Rossa by Prada has a simple design on the box with silver, and the black bottle itself is made to represent the Italian sailing team's sailboat. Interestingly, the only consistency the bottle has with the sailing boat is the significant Prada font and the colors. The bottle has a beautiful griddled aluminum design around the entire perimeter of the bottle.

Talking about the smell, the first thing you will notice as soon as you spray this on is that it smells strongly of lavender (check the best smelling perfumes with lavender notes). Although it comes off as a very strong note, you will notice that it is balanced with the other ingredients in this fragrance. It contains a bitter orange note on the top that is fleeting and does not stay for long.

Instead of using something more conventional like bergamot, the perfumer went with bitter orange, so to use an ingredient in a fragrance that is fresh smelling overall is very complex. Besides that, it has mint and clary sage in the middle notes, and as the base notes, you get ambrette and ambroxan.

Overall, the lavender lingers on throughout the stay time of the perfume, and if you don’t like lavender, you are going to want to stay away from this fragrance.

Xerjoff – Torino 21

It is a special fragrance, especially for the summer and spring seasons.

If you are a fan of Xerjoff, you will love this one too. This is a beautiful, fresh, vibrant, citrusy, and aromatic fragrance with some concluding notes of musk and verbena.

Torino 21 by Xerjoff

The presentation of this perfume is exquisite. This is a very bright and citrusy fragrance with vibrant and uplifting notes. Fragrances like these put you in a positive mindset and are a mood enhancer in many ways. It opens up with a mint note but is not overly pronounced and is combined with basil, lemon, and thyme. You have that mint combination that makes it so flavorful, and then you also have the verbena that keeps that citric personality alive for many hours in the fragrance.

In most cases, citrusy fragrances do not last very long. That is not the case with this fragrance. It opens up very bright on account of the lemon. It has a bright personality that maintains its composure through the entire progression and evolution of the fragrance, which is impressive. With this bright, citrusy opening, you also get aromatic basil. It is an unconventional aromatic ingredient that is unique.

At the heart of this perfume, you get lavender, rosemary, black currant, and jasmine. Here you have a unique combination of rosemary and lavender. The lavender that is in here is very subtle. You pick up a little bit, but it melds nicely with the jasmine. They both share the stage relatively evenly.

At the base notes, you get verbena and musk. You get a dose of these warm notes at the dry down, making the perfume smell pleasant and aromatic. It doesn’t smell like a pantry of spices but sits with a natural warmth that is much needed and gives the perfume its unique kick.

Creed – Viking

You get a lot of rose and mint notes.

Creed is a family-owned company. They are located out of England, but their perfumes are made in France (check the top rated Creed perfumes for women). They started in 1760, and Irwin Creed, their 7th generation, is currently in charge of the house. With a name like Viking, you expect the perfume to be potent and very rugged, and this one is said to have a fiery accord which is why the box and the bottle are red.

Viking by Creed

The box is red with all the necessary information detailing the brand, the colors on the bottle are red and silver, and the fragrance itself is tinted yellow. With a nice heavy-duty bottle, this perfume has an interesting presentation.

As soon as this fragrance opens up, the first note that you get is mint. A lot of it. It is bright, open, and airy, and if you love mint-based fragrances, this will surely top your list.

It has a mature vibe and smells like a very green perfume. However, it has modern and contemporary notes. You get a lot of roses and pink pepper in it, too, and it is the combination of those two ingredients provides you with an aura that you don’t traditionally find in men’s perfumes.

In terms of lavender, it is not the strongest note in the perfume, so you will find just a slight touch. You will pick up on the verdant and woody notes in the base. In the dry down, you get green and musky notes.
