Description
The fragrance opens with fresh and fruity notes: citron, bergamot, neroli, pear and plum. The heart intertwines pink pepper, violet and gardenia. The trail pairs white musk with cedar, frankincense and vetiver. Perfumer: Caroline Sabas, Givaudan.
History
Calvin Klein presents Downtown, a modern scent that’s a cross between feminine woods and sweet florals. The perfume is intended for young urban women who make their own rules. Shot in New York, the publicity spot shows brief scenes from the life of a young actress who is an international star. The bottle is a sleekly modern cylinder in fuchsia and silver hues.

Je le porte et j'adore son odeur mais je trouve sa tenue très décevante. Si ça tenue était à la hauteur je le rachèterais car c'est un parfum frais, féminin, fruité mais pas du tout entêtant. La première fois que je l'ai senti j'en suis tombée amoureuse, trop dommage pour la tenue...

Rien d'original comme odeur. Fade. Si c'est le parfum de la femme urbain moderne, ça donne une idée tristounette. Pourtant les ingrédients me parlaient. Comme les parfums Céline Dion en général, on mettrait mille ingrédients et ça resterait banal. En plus, CK croit qu'en augmentant le coût, cela va attirer un public plus mûr. Peut-être, mais ils se sont mis le doigt dans l'œil.

Downtown is urban and very light, a warm incensey-note under floral gardenia and pear freshness, perfectly inoffensive for office wear in times when perfume use is frowned upon. Compared to the more established Calvin Klein fragrances, such as Obsession, Euphoria, Eternity or even CK One it seems weak and rather limp-wristed, despite its better intentions and nice bouquet.
