Eau de Cartier ESSENCE DE BOIS

Description

Essence de Bois is a woody variation on Eau de Cartier. At the top, yuzu (a small Asian citrus fruit) is paired with bergamot. The heart, composed around oud wood, also reveals violet leaves and flowers, as well as lavender. Ambergris, musks and patchouli compose the fragrance’s trail. Perfumer: Mathilde Laurent, Cartier.

History

After Eau de Cartier, the original edition, followed more recently by Essence d’Orange, Cartier is now unveiling an Essence de Bois version for 2012. The fragrance is ‘irradiated with the carnal voluptuousness of a precious wood:’ oud wood, which brings warmth and softness to this fresh eau, and clearly evokes the Orient. An eau that pairs heat and cold.

Bottle

Eau de Cartier’s classic cylindrical bottle is garbed in pale-brown wood tones. A water-drop pattern that looks like it was engraved in the glass graces the bottom of the bottle.
