Description
A luminous oriental perfume, Coco Noir by Chanel opens with citrus notes spiced up with pink pepper. Jasmine, rose, narcissus and geranium leaf come together in the heart. The trail reveals dense notes of patchouli, frankincense, vetiver, white musk, vanilla and tonka bean. Perfumer: Jacques Polge.

History
First there was Coco, then Coco Mademoiselle. In 2012, Coco Noir, a fragrance described as a ‘stunning baroque nocturnal’ makes its appearance. Coco Noir’s inspiration comes from Gabrielle Chanel’s travels to Venice, where she discovered baroque art and developed her taste for color… and for gold. This fragrance is redolent of women who choose ‘intensity over the boring norm, seductive detours over shallow exhibitionism, and true luxury over vulgarity,’ the house explains.
Range
Eau de Parfum 1.7 and 3.4 oz.

I have a confession to make... I fell so in love with the bottle for Coco Noir, that I bought it un-sniffed ! The smooth cube of thick black glass felt so good in my hand, and is so simply and geometrically beautiful... that I could not resist it. And, since I have been a fan of the original Coco since it was first created, I knew I would like the scent. I would classify Coco Noir as 'safely seductive', for the classical, elegant woman who wants to entice and create a sensual stir, and who wants to do it softly, not with a loud voice... but with a whisper. Notes are a tapestry of grapefruit, bergamot, rose absolute, jasmine absolute, narcissus, rose geranium leaf, tonka, bean, patchouli, sandalwood, Bourbon vanilla, white musk, and frankincense, woven perfectly together in what perfumer Christopher Sheldrake calls a luminous, transparent oriental.
