Milly-La-Forêt
Description
Milly-La-Forêt opens with fresh and sparkling notes of bergamot, mandarin orange and other citrus fruits. Very soon, the powdery, velvety, cottony heart appears, unveiling a multi-floral bouquet in which you can spot jasmine, orange blossom and iris petals. The petals are coated with a cloud of musk, the perfume’s keynote. The perfumer chose to enhance the trail with sandalwood and undergrowth notes to call to mind this charming village near Fontainebleau that was so beloved of Monsieur Dior. Perfumer: François Demachy
At a glance
A tender, mellow memory of Milly-la-Forêt
History
Powdery, velvety and mellow, Milly-La-Forêt is part of Dior’s Couturier Parfumeur Collection. This series of fragrances, intended for connoisseurs of fine essences, was created by François Demachy, the House of Dior’s perfumer-designer. Each of the creations in the collection was inspired by different moments in the history of the House of Dior, like a tribute to the fashion designer and his most important encounters. Milly-La-Forêt evokes the tranquility of this millhouse in the woods, a veritable haven of peace, where Christian Dior liked to retreat for a restful moment after the whirl of the fashion shows. In Milly-La-Forêt, the couturier felt sheltered, surrounded by quiet and soothing nature. François Demachy wanted a fragrance redolent of a peaceful walk in the woods, when, just for a moment, the spirit is wrapped in lightness, but also gentleness, incarnated here by an overdose of musks, creating a cocoon effect.
