Eau Mage
Description
Eau Mage opens with rose oxide, a note with both a lychee facet and a rose one. The very ambroxy heart also reveals a touch of cumin: an ‘olfactory accident,’ according to the perfumer. The drydown is woody and musky. Perfumer: Fabrice Pellegrin, Firmenich.

History
Woody, spicy and musky, Eau Mage (a pun in French on the word “Homage”) is a unisex scent from Diptyque’s ‘Les invités du 34’ line. The collection was created to celebrate the house’s 50th anniversary by paying ‘homage’ to the address where it all got started (34 Boulevard Saint Germain, Paris). This ‘elegant fragrance stays close to the skin, like a well-kept secret that is passed on by word of mouth,’ confides the designer, Fabrice Pellegrin. Look for it in the same line as the multi-purpose scented eau, Eau Particulière, and the Curiosités candle.
Range
Eau de Toilette 1.7 oz.
Bottle
34’s cylindrical bottle now affords a glimpse of a dark gray juice.

Le flacon et le jeu de mots (voire les jeux de mots) autour du nom me plaisent. En revanche la composition me laisse sceptique. J'ai du mal à m'imaginer ce que cela peut donner.

Maybe this scent does stay close to the skin. My man would like that. A "perfume accident" seems to accurately describe the addition of cumin to a spicy scent. I'd like to sample the "accident" to see if this is something the perfumer can truly be proud of.
