Description
Chamade is a sweet bouquet of roses, jasmine and ylang ylang freshened up by a green note of hyacinth and enhanced by a fruity hint of cassis bud. . This symphony merges into the voluptuous tenderness of vanilla and balsamic notes.
History
During the time of Napoleon, the drum was the means of communication between the general and his soldiers. There were several kinds or drumbeats including the "chamade", a very fast beat which was an order to retreat. Is there a heart than has never beaten wildly? Who can pretend never having their heart turn upside down, so appropriately symbolized by the upside down heart of the flacon? Chamade by Guerlain embodies self-surrender in the face of love.

Mon Guerlain préféré après le regretté Parure. Je l'ai porté trop jeune, je ne lui correspondais pas. Aujourd'hui, ce serait différent mais pour l'instant, je lui préfère Grand Amour d'Annick Goutal.

Napoleon & Josephine: a love story like no other. I love the back story of drumbeats & retreat. At first the flacon looked to me like a letter opener was stuck into the flacon. This is in the same olfactory group as Sui Dreams by Anna Sui and I Love that. I hope I can find Chamade somewhere.

Le flacon est de toute beauté, fin, délicat. La fragrance est sublime. Je lui trouve une petite parenté avec Nahema que j'adore.

Un très beau parfum floral oriental, le premier à utiliser le bourgeon de cassis à l'époque, Il se caractérise par cette dualité entre une envolée fraîche et verte en tête, et un fond très sensuel empreint de vanille et notes baumées. Entre les deux s'épanouit un beau bouquet floral. A essayer en extrait si possible, c'est là qu'il est le plus beau, le plus suave.
