Description

The Déserts d’Orient collection is composed of 3 fragrances: Rose Nacrée du Désert (“Iridescent Desert Rose”), a floral and woody composition, blends rose, oud wood and saffron. Perfumer: Thierry Wasser. Songe d’un Bois d’Eté (“A Midsummer Woods’ Dream”), a spicy-woody scent, pairs cedar, patchouli, myrrh, floral accents and leather notes. Perfumer: Thierry Wasser. Encens Mythique d’Orient (“Mythical Oriental Frankincense”) opens with rose softened with aldehydes. The heart reveals waves of frankincense, orange blossom and saffron. As for the woody trail, it unveils ambergris and musks (see pyramid). Perfumer: Thierry Wasser.

History

In 2012, Guerlain presents the Les Déserts d’Orient collection, a line that is expanding the house’s range of Collections Exclusives. Composed of 3 eaux de parfum: Rose Nacrée du Désert, Encens Mythique d’Orient and Songe d’un Bois d’Eté, the line pays tribute to Arabian essences. Rose, myrrh, frankincense, orange blossom and spices ‘have been the object of cult-like devotion since time immemorial, for both religious and cultural reasons’. Guerlain has honored this olfactory heritage by creating ‘an Orient that is part myth, part reality.’ Available exclusively from Guerlain boutiques.
