UN JARDIN SUR LE NIL
Description
The opening has a surprising note of green mango, like a cross between carrot and tomato stem. In the heart, the grassy-green accents of calamus espouses Nile lotus, with a rosy fragrance reminiscent of hyacinth and peony. The dry down is woodier, with essences of sycamore and frankincense. The whole is fruity-green-woody.

History
Remember back in 2003, when Hermès helped us discover a magical garden nestled near the shores of the Mediterranean? This year, Hermès invites us to the banks of the Nile, on a sumptuous voyage organized by their in-house perfume designer, Jean Claude Ellena. In this garden, light years away from clichéd landscapes, the wind bears the scent of sacred lotus, with a touch of sycamore and green mango. A promising new essence men and women will share for the pleasure of their senses.

Eau de Toilette, 1.7 and 3.4 fl. oz. Body lotion, 6.8 fl. oz.
Bottle
The spare, aesthetic bottle is not unlike the one for Un jardin en Mediterranée, but with green highlights. The packaging, bursting with the poetry of travel, is illustrated with a lotus drawn by the artist Veronique de Mareuil.

Une jolie signature fruitée et boisée pour ce Jardin sur le Nil. Je ne le trouve pas aussi frais que cela dans son évolution qui l'orientalise pas mal. Un cran en dessous du Jardin en Méditerranée qui reste mon jardin favori.

Je m'imaginais une odeur très orientale .. jusqu'à ce qu'on me l'offre !! Sur ma peau : un petit côté Eau de Cologne, très frais, vert, les agrumes prennent largement le dessus sur les senteurs florales. Un parfum dynamique, avec une réelle identité, agréable en été. Par contre, je ne le trouve pas spécialement féminin, ni sensuel.

Quand je suis infidèle, l'été, à l'eau d'Oranges vertes (qui s'appelait Eau de Cologne à sa sortie), j'adore aussi Un jardin après la mousson. Ce sont des parfums frais,pas entêtants, mais qui tiennent sur ma peau

Un Jardin sur le Nil est le seul Jardin d'Hermès que je ne connais pas. Il faut dire que ce floral-aquatique ne m'inspire pas. Et pourtant, c'est un incontournable très apprécié.
