L'Eau d'Issey FLEUR DE BOIS
Description
This limited edition under the sign of wood opens with fresh, fruity notes of cassis and mandarin orange that then ‘wake up a bunch of flowers swaying in the current’. At the heart, rose blends with Grasse mimosa absolute. This pair of flowers is softened by a touch of freesia. Then the fragrance evokes floating wood, ‘carried away by the water. Dominated by Virginia cedar, the woodsy trail, ‘lets itself be rocked by the streams, its essence blending in with the aquatic scents’. The fragrance gradually warms up with an alliance of musks and woodsy amber. Perfumer: Jacques Cavallier, Firmenich.

When wood and water meet
History
For Japanese couturier Issey Miyake, the choice of materials for clothing is infinite. Anything can be made into an item of clothing, he confides. His textures are often blended, and his savoir-faire is sometimes intertwined with the most unexpected technologies, ‘to create a sensation… an emotion, above all’. The process was similar for the fragrance. So ‘A scent by Issey’ evokes a chunk of glass, sliced into pieces; and in 2009, Issey Miyake presented bottles coated in cement. In 2010, wood is the guest star. For ‘L’Eau d’Issey Fleur de Bois’, the bottle is garbed in aged wood with grayish-pink nuances. Perfumer Jacques Cavallier reinterprets the original fragrance with woodsier tonalities. For men, wood in natural brown tones garbs the bottle of ‘L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Edition Bois’ (‘Wood Edition)’, but the fragrance is unchanged. Limited editions.
Range
Eau de Toilette 3.5 oz.
Bottle
The bottle is sheathed in aged wood with grayish-pink nuances, plus a matte-white metallic cap. ‘A soft-skin and cold-metal feel contrasts with the rough warmth of the unfinished wood: textured sensations, opposing effects’.

Me gusto mucho!
