L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Oceanic Expedition is a flanker (a fragrance that has been revisited) of L’Eau d’Issey, created in 1994 by perfumer Jacques Cavallier. Today Alberto Morillas lets us board a ship to feel the wind, fresh water and pure air. Water and air are as one, for a brand new kind of freshness. « I wished no visual support to start with. I know this marine fresh, the ocean smoking like one’s breath in front of one’s eyes. I had this feeling of infinite blue, then the white dissolving in the blue of… the sky. I imagined a freshness coming from the light itself. An invigorating cool ringing out in the air, a slap of wind expressed by the fizzyness of grapefruit, petit grain and bergamot, and a touch of metal with the zest (the ozone in the air). Then comes the Cascalone®, offering its marine note, enriched with neroli and ginger. For the cotton effect of a mist over the ocean and giant clouds, I used white musks.
