FLEUR DE NARCISSE 2006
Description
An essence built around the 2005 narcissus harvest from Lozère. L’Artisan Parfumeur chiseled extraordinary accords from the narcissus absolute. The result is as fresh as green grass and wildflowers, with nuances of black-currant blossom and cut hay. A powdery evocation of cassie and iris, plus the honeyed sweetness of blonde tobacco, moss and leather.
At a glance
L’Artisan Parfumeur’s second exceptional harvest: Narcissus from the volcanoes of France’s Lozère region
History
In 2005, the Orchards of Nabeul, Tunisia had pride of place, offering an orange-blossom harvest of an exceptional quality. This year L’Artisan Parfumeur discovered narcissus from the volcanoes of the Lozère. An exceptional harvest allowed for the creation of a fragrance comparable to a vintage wine: unique to the year. Delicately hand-picked, fragile narcissus is transformed on the spot, so as not to lose any of its precious scent. Flowers, leaves and stems were distilled into an absolute. A painstaking task leading to a fragrance with an ‘ambiguous sensuality, almost as masculine as it is feminine’, with waves of powder, honey and tobacco. Just 3,000 numbered bottles were produced. It's exclusivity lowers my chance of ever smelling this. But I love the story of the narcissus. I also love the powder, tobacco and honey accords blended with narcissus. Wish I could try.
