Description

The ‘Essential Luxuries Collection’ is composed of 6 fragrances : Oriental Lace, a gourmand and oriental scent, is composed of hoya carnosa flower (hoya carnosa is also known as wax plant), honey, bitter almond, cacao and patchouli. Granada, a citrus and floral fragrance, reveals notes of jasmine petals, bitter orange, exotic roses, a fresh stream of water and a lingering impression. Mi Corazon, a white floral bouquet, mixes tuberose, ylang and peach. Coralina, a floral and green perfume, blends mimosa, violet, orris and green notes. Sargasso, a fresh and citrusy mix, unveils cucumber, green notes, ‘warm sunshine’ accord and patchouli. Santo Domingo starts with fresh notes and mandarin. The heart is a combination of coriander and spicy notes. The dry-down mingles tobacco and patchouli (olfactory pyramid shown).

Oscar de la Renta creates a collection inspired by his own life. ‘Essential Luxuries Collection’ is a range of fragrances described as ‘a tailored line of unique scents imbued with his love of beauty and luxury’. Santo Domingo is inspired by Oscar’s birthplace, Oriental Lace by his runway collection and Granada by the Alhambra patios. Mi Corazon (‘My Heart’) represents Oscar’s love and devotion to his family and his passion for gardening, Coralina evokes a woman who inspires Mister de la Renta’s luxurious designs and finally Sargasso is the essence of sea spray.

In order, I want to try all 6: Oriental Lace (I'm looking for a gourmand & these ingredients sound exotic), Coralina (green with orris), Sargasso (with cucumber & patchouli), Mi Corazon (white floral), Granada (fresh streaming water) & then Santo Domingo (mandarin & tobacco). Now I must try to find these scents in stores.
