Description
The opening of Juniper Sling is dazzling and spicy thanks to notes of orange, juniper berry, brandy and cinnamon. The heart of this woody, spicy and musky fragrance reveals a combination of cardamom, leather, woods and pepper. The very ambrox-inflected trail blends vetiver with sweeter notes, like cherry. History
The House of Penhaligon’s presents Juniper Sling, a fragrance inspired by ‘the most famous of English alcohols, London Dry Gin, and the atmosphere of cocktails in the Roaring Twenties.’ The creation was born of an encounter between master-perfumer Olivier Cresp and the director of the bar of Paris’s Plaza Athénée Hotel, Thierry Hernandez. Together they created an olfactory cocktail based on juniper berry. The result is a ‘woody, aromatic and spicy fragrance with a sparkling trail’ that can be enjoyed equally by men and women.

The house’s signature bottle has been adorned with a silvery label that matches the bow around the neck of the bottle.

J'adore ce parfum! Sexy! Un parfum de peau qui fait du bien. Le genévrier a des propriétés apaisantes... mais ici le tonique genévrier est réveillé par des accents de cocktail, de brandy donc, tout en étant subtil, suave grâce à l'iris; il laisse une odeur divine, masculine sur la peau! Un régal de parfum si comme moi vous êtes un peu garçonne! JE REGRETTE QU'IL N'Y AIT PAS LA FICHE PARFUM POUR ELLENISIA... mon préféré de Penhaligon's. Ellenisia est le parfum des nymphes... il est... divin!!!! Je lui mettrai ***** mais il ne figure pas :'(

The bottle reminds me of juniper though I know what color juniper bushes & berries are. The notes of juniper, brandy, angelica with a cherry finish sound divine. Even though I'm not a big fan of mixed gender fragrances, I would spritz this on sparingly and then throw a cocktail party where I serve three types of martinis and a whiskey sour. I'll be the bartender, catching conversation snippets as people just enjoy the ambiance and food.

Juniper Sling fits a current trend for light and abstract scents built on a three-tier system that defies the classical pyramid, felt all at once like in a prism… One part herbal freshness, one part buzzing woods (built on Iso-E Super, a synthetic with cedar-like facets) and one part sweet vetiver & spice (cardamom to be exact). It reminds me of the style of Jean Claude Ellena, only less distinctive.
