Description
Prada Candy is a fragrance with a chic gourmand character. It opens with a lightly floral, powdery tonality (which is definitely there, even though the house has not acknowledged it), then soon unveils its sweet side. Prada’s take on candy is lush with benzoin, the central note, wrapped in a cocktail of musks. The trail unveils a caramel accord.

Prada presents Prada Candy, ‘an explosion of bright pink and gold.’ With this fragrance, the Italian house wanted to reveal a ‘different facet of Prada’s femininity, where excess is everything.’ The composition is an invitation to live a bold, passionate and… gourmand life, right now. The Candy woman is sophisticated and sultry, with an impulsive and explosive temperament,’ the house explains.

Bottle
The top of the cylindrical bottle is wrapped in a bright pink ‘ribbon’ with the Prada logo in golden letters. The glossy black half-moon pump hovers over the top of the bottle.

Une fragrance sucrée, mais pas écoeurante, c'est une véritable prouesse. Le petit reproche que je ferais à Prada Candy, c'est la trame d'Infusion d'Iris que je retrouve en filigrane... mais ce défaut, au final, se révèle être un atout.

Une vraie réussite! Quand le caramel et la gourmandise sont de bon goût! Je déteste pourtant les notes caramel, mais ici c'est fin, subtile, avec une évolution très poudrée, où le benjoin équilibre la note caramel avec finesse. Comme si le praline d'angel rencontrait les notes de fond de l'heure bleue, un caramel enpreint de guerlinade, le style du parfumeur Daniela Roche Andrier qu'on reconnaît parfaitement, un très joli parfum, gourmand sans être écoeurant!

Le benjoin est une note clé de Prada Candy. Il existe deux types de benjoin : le benjoin de Sumatra, originaire d’Indonésie et le benjoin de Siam, provenant des provinces du Laos et du Vietnam. Cette gomme-résine issue d’arbres indigènes de l’Asie du sud-est, offre un parfum envoûtant principalement utilisé, par les populations locales, comme encens dans les rituels religieux. En parfumerie, l’odeur du benjoin devient gourmande et révèle de doux accents vanillés.
