Belle d’Opium
Description
The perfume opens with a floral bouquet of lily and spicy white flowers enhanced with a touch of bitterness thanks to mandarin orange. In the heart, velvety peach is intertwined with a hookah accord and tobacco notes. The fairly ambry trail unveils warm and woodsy waves of sandalwood and patchouli. The sophisticated result is both oriental and slightly chypry. Although it isn’t as spicy as Opium, Belle d’Opium is more than just a fresh flanker for the original scent. Perfumers: Honorine Blanc and Alberto Morillas, Firmenich.
At a glance
The warmth of a distant, but more contemporary Orient
History
Powerful and sultry, Belle d’Opium is an addictive scent that carries all the heat and sensuality of the Orient. The ad features actress Melanie Thierry incarnating Belle d’Opium in a choreography composed by Akram Khan. A more contemporary version of Opium, the brand’s best-seller created in 1978, Belle d’Opium keeps both the fragrance’s and the ad campaign’s oriental spirit. The Opium bottle’s reddish-brown hue gives way here to an indigo-blue tone.
Range
Eau de Parfum 1, 1.7 and 3 oz.
Bottle
Inspired by the Inrô of Far Eastern warriors, the square Belle d’Opium bottle is an almost electric shade of indigo blue. In the center, the perfume’s name is set in a sleek typeface inside a golden circle. A red tassel graces the bottle, which has a rounded, golden cabochon.

Très bon flanker, fruité, bon sillage et bonne tenue. Dommage qu'il fut effemère... Je trouve que Always Red de Arden lui ressemble beaucoup.
